Interview with Peluxe, the Major Fashion and Beauty Blogger!
We interviewed the immensely popular beauty blogger Phoebe Dixon about Kim Kardashian, light pink lips and some super useful beauty tips!
When did you start blogging?
Summer of 2009, after diving into the online beauty community through YouTube videos. I just wanted my own outlet!
What/who inspired you to start your blog?
I started watching YouTube beauty videos after my friend discovered them, through that I discovered Laura's 'Lollipop26 writes' blog and so many more from there. It all spiralled from YouTube.
What is your favourite product/item ever?
What a difficult question! Not sure I could narrow every single thing I've tried down to just one favourite... Ones that spring to mind are Maybelline Colossal lash, MAC Fluidline and the Lush Colour Supplement.
What do you think is the hottest Autumn/Winter trend?
It's always about the nail trends for me. I tend to wear the same face make up day in day out, but love to channel fashion on my nails! I'm currently perfecting my 'Galaxy nails' technique!
Which celebrity beauty looks are your favourites?
(i.e. Kim Kardashian's smoky eye and Florence Welch's classic 40's vintage look.)
Despite her not being my most favourite person, I do love Kim Kardashian's make up. It's always flawless and she (or her MUA) definitely knows how to work their tools. I've recently been loving Millie from Made in Chelsea, she's someone who has the dewy look down to a tee.
Do you have any beauty tips for us?
The best tip I've ever learnt is how to cover a blemish. I only perfected this about a month ago. Basically, you need to place concealer (preferably liquid) straight onto the spot, dab it out with your finger and put powder straight over the concealer. If there's still redness showing then repeat.
It actually makes your blemishes look flawless and if you use the right products then you don't get that crusty look that often comes with concealing a blemish!
What look do you go for yourself?
I'm relatively low maintenance in my make up. I use the same products every single day and it's been that way for a while! Of course I'll amp it up a little for a night out, but it's generally a natural face, with MAC Fluidlined eyes and heaps of mascara. On the days I can be bothered I'll do a light pink lip but it's rare that I remember to top it up! The secrets of a beauty blogger..!
